Abortion-An Unpopular Opinion

So after getting called a babbling idiot on Twitter, and having my whole family attack me and my fiancee for not agreeing with abortion…I timidly put this post. I don’t agree with abortion, and think it’s all pretty backwards. If you don’t agree and don’t have anything nice to say…Please leave the comments empty. I am not disrespecting anyone or angry. I am just putting my words out there. I am not looking for a fight which seems to be the liberal response so far.

Of course, women have the right to control their own bodies, but the right to life overrides the right of a woman to control her own body. Therefore, abortion is wrong.

It’s a life that’s the point

Weather you say you are having power by killing your baby cause you an’t afford it, you don’t do the same to someone you don’t like, a grandma you can’t afford, you send her to a nursing home.

So then the argument stands as well it’s not a life which science has proved it’s more than sperm.

Medically it is a life unborn has a DNA and body distinct from her mother and father. She develops her own arms, legs, brain, nervous system, heart, and so forth.

Living. The unborn meets the biological criteria for life. She grows by reproducing cells. She turns nutrients into energy through metabolism. And she can respond to stimuli.

Human. The unborn has a human genetic signature. She is also the offspring of human parents, and humans can only beget other humans.

Organism. The unborn is an organism (rather than a mere organ or tissue)—an individual whose parts work together for the good of the whole. Guided by a complete genetic code (46 chromosomes), she needs only the proper environment and nutrition to develop herself through the different stages of life as a member of the species.

These facts about the unborn are established by the science of embryology and developmental biology. They are confirmed by embryology texts, scientific journals, and other relevant authorities.

“Human development begins at fertilization when a sperm fuses with an oocyte to form a single cell, a zygote,” explains the textbook The Developing Human: Clinically Oriented Embryology. “This highly specialized, totipotent cell marks the beginning of each of us as a unique individual.”

So then the argument stands that the power to kill killing is more important so i have my rights. So then the argument comes down to okay if you believe killing others is power. that killing an American citizen requires that he “poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States,” No but you are killing a life which can be seen as you are the one attacking the life. Yes, if it poses extreme health problems to your body beyond normal pregnancy then talk to the doctor. But if you are against guns and trying to stop wars and innocent children being killed, then how can you say that killing a life that does not even have the chance to speak for itself is right or your power?

Then they say well it does not have higher cognitive functioning so it does not matter, so your nephew who is disabled staying at age 2 cognitively you don’t want him so you kill him. Is that your right? He is not “part of your body” but he is part of your life, sucking away at your money, making you poor and having a difficult life and you have to go to a therapist because it’s too much for you. So what do you do and throw him out in the woods? Is that your power and right in order to “save your mental and financial state”? No, there are services for those who have disabled families to help them with income and nurses so they don’t have to do it all on their own. Like the crack addict hotel, give them clean needles and a hotel to stay and they start a whole drug business. Having abortions legal is encouraging murder behavior and humanizing it as a right.

So there are all those dangerous methods out there that they will do if we don’t let them. So is cocaine all of a sudden legal because people are out there doing cocaine? No, even if it was legal, it would make it more accessible and more drug addicts. They’re going to do it either way. But making it legal does not stop the problem, only encourages it to continue to happen.

So there is the argument of suicide. Is it there choice to kill themselves? Absolutely not! That is them murdering their own life. There are hospitals that if you mention suicide thoughts even, they keep you there overnight, force a person in your hospital room to make sure you do not kill yourself. So it is absolutely not your right to kill yourself. If you feel like ending your life, that is why there are counselors and psychiatrists that say your life is your power we don’t want you to die, we want you to live! And they will hold you in the hospital to make sure you don’t murder yourself. There are crisis evaluators that if you are even demonstrating suicial or extreme depressive behavior, will involunantarily detain you in a psych ward, check on you ever 15 minutes to make sure you do not kill yourself.

Then they say well if the baby could talk it wouldn’t have anything to say. Who are you to decide that the baby does not want to live?

Then they say, well i can’t afford it. So you say i’m privileged because I have the money and resources because I’m white. They say poor black people can’t afford it.

  1. I absolutely agree with you. Well said and well done for putting your views out there. My mum tried to abort me, but here I still am. I disagree with abortion so strongly. But it is not a popular opinion these days. Your post was refreshing to readd. Thankyou for putting it out there.

  2. Well, now this is an interesting post, to be sure! You aren’t really wanting anyone to change your mind, are you?

#! Our troops in uniform killing soldiers of the enemy isn’t murder, is it?
#2 The assumption of abortion being murder is based on a factual fallacy. Murder/homicide can only happen to a “person”!! An egg and a sperm that are fertilized become a fetus, not a person. Those who are anti-abortion like to change laws to make a person from the moment of conception but that does not make it so any more than calling a Tulip a rose makes it so.
#3 Conception, nor gestation makes a fetus a person – well at least not according to the Bible – God gave man the “Breath of Life” and man became a living Soul – it requires the joining the body with the breath of life (breathing) to make a fetus a person. As evidenced in the Bible when a husband can beat a wife to the point of miscarriage and it was not murder.
#4 Contraception is not abortion nor murder. Preventing an egg from being fertilized is not murder. Far fetched fantasy and ad hoc rewriting biology.

#5 Everyone has the right and liberty to decide what happens to your own body!! No one has the right to force you to have something growing inside of you unless you want it anymore than you should have to be forced to let cancer cells grow and multiple in your body! No one has the right to force someone to abide by another’s religious dogma!! That is not liberty and freedom. Anti-abortion dogma violates the principles of God given right and democracy!

    Just my opinions!
