Defined Lines-Poem and painting by Camile McGregor
Stability is a horse with no hooves
tea without waterPredictable as oceans move
as the egos you alter
I am not defined
by your straight lines
I curve with color
pop with laughter
slick in darkness
When the lamp turns out for the night
My color is not straighted by your tie
My yellow sand drifts when the suns rise
My blue rose petals wilt when words lie
Over the clouds I will not become your prize
I am what I choose
depending on the day
It is you who will loose
by staying still that way
Change is apparent
branches cracking under skin
Your devices so transparent
my truth will win
So do not tell me
Color you cannot see
It is our personality
A fact of the speaking tree
But no not use this
For your conversational game
And go behind and reminise
Of the worth of my name
I am what I choose
depending on the day
It is you who will loose
by staying still that way
You blew me away with those first two brilliant lines. I’m off to check out your etsy now.

I’m afraid I’m not a buyer at the moment. I live on a very tight budget.

Thank you. When I write something happens and it is like I am taken over by the words. I don’t write the words do the work

That is really magic when something almost writes itself like that – like you are taking dictation from the Universe!! I love that! Sadly, not always that way!! Wonderful that you can keep it in the groove like that!! Great post!!

Thank you! Lots of meditation and self-time š

Meditation is great if you can just block out the noise of the world and your inner voices gabbing away!!! Ha!
